New technologies and a new look for existing features: the latest for UtilityGenius
As the leading resource for utility rebate programs in the U.S. and Canada, our goal is to provide a holistic picture of the energy efficiency landscape. With our latest update, we're proud to introduce additional user-centric features that will benefit people across the industry with more depth of information and an improved user experience. This release adds new technologies to our utility rebate program tracking and improves the UI for a better user experience. Read on to learn more about the latest for UtilityGenius!
Introducing New Technologies
With our most recent update, we've expanded our database with 21 new technologies. The goal of incorporating these new technologies is to provide our customers with a more diverse and comprehensive resource pool for efficient utility tracking.
These technologies cover various domains, including appliances, air systems, electric vehicles, and food services. Each technology page features educational information, examples of incentivized categories, and links to the utility's website.

We've also added the ability to vote on the categories in which they would like to see more program details, including more exact rebate estimates. This way, we can adapt to the community's wishes and shape our platform with your interests in mind. To vote, click on 'We want to hear from you!' on the technology page!

Benefits of Technology Expansion
You may ask yourself: what does that mean for me? With the latest addition of new technologies to our database, this update enhances the accessibility of energy-related information. By offering these technologies to all site visitors (even those with no account) at no cost, we remove barriers to information and broaden the reach of our resources.
We've also provide a wide range of information for each technology, including educational content and example categories that help users understand the technologies better, with direct links to utility websites to get more detailed information. Focusing on this multi-level approach to information gives users detailed insights into different energy solutions. Using this knowledge, they can explore sustainable energy options beyond our previously existing set of technologies and ensure that they are taking advantage of every incentive available to them along the way.
Enhancing User Engagement: Buildings and Projects Interface Revamp
In keeping with our user-centric philosophy, the most recent features released have greatly enhanced the user interface. We’ve redesigned our popular Buildings and Projects features with more contemporary aesthetics in mind to provide users with a fresh and engaging experience. These design updates simplify the user's journey through these features to ensure seamless interaction with our platform.
Centralized Filtering Experience
Our Buildings feature allows users to monitor utility rebate availability for precise locations by creating a building with address information, which we connect to the correct utility to return personalized incentive information. The new release focuses on a centralized filtering experience, allowing users to find specific information quickly and efficiently. All user levels can filter based on the territory or custom tags they add to their buildings to see that subset of buildings. Those with Expert accounts can now access multisite functionality in this filtering experience, as well, selecting the technology and product type to see more precise rebate information for their buildings.
This streamlined approach is handy for users who need to sift through vast amounts of program information across many locations, making the process more efficient and less daunting.

Enhanced Map and Multisite Functionality
Another important improvement over the previous versions is the prominence of the map, ensuring that multisite functionality is highlighted in the user journey and making it easier for Expert users to access information at a glance. Multisite allows users to visualize and manage multiple buildings, a crucial tool for users overseeing property portfolios.
To plot buildings on the map and see exact rebate information, simply select the category you want to view in the Filters menu. This feature is available for Expert users only.

Projects Redesign
In line with the changes to Buildings, we’ve implemented similar visual elements to our Projects interface to ensure a cohesive user experience across the platform.. Projects are available to all registered users, with additional functionalities for paid tiers. By using similar design elements, navigation patterns, and interaction styles, we ensure that users feel a sense of familiarity across the site and have a shorter learning curve for new features.

These values drive our ongoing innovation, along with feedback from users like you, which we are constantly evaluating for future updates.
We thank our users for their ongoing support and feedback, which are essential in shaping the future path of UtilityGenius.
